ONEin3's Second Podcast with Boston Marathon Runner Emily Knight!!

For those of you keeping track it is once again Thursday.  I am super excited today…more than usual (I didn’t believe it was possible either) because we have ONEin3’s second podcast of all time.

This coming Monday is the day I have been waiting for pretty much since I started with ONEin3.  Not only is it Marathon Monday, but it is also the day I get to see Devin suffer for a joyful 26 miles. In addition, Devin will finally get to shave the mess that has grown on his face and I will not longer have to look at his beard while sharing a 5’ by 6’ cube.

In the spirit of this wonderful day, Devin and I interviewed the always-fabulous Emily Knight who is running the marathon for Melanoma Foundation of New England. As a person that picked sports growing up and in college based on how little I would have to run, I have nothing but admiration for Emily (and Devin…I guess).

So sit back, relax, and listen to ONEin3’s second podcast!!

Everyday is a Family Day…Important News from the BPS!!!

It is Wednesday ONEin3 community, and usually on Wednesdays I nanny, in the North End, for two very adorable toddlers.  I love families, especially the families I nanny for.  Although ONEin3 tends to not focus a ton on young families (even though many parents are in our age range), we really want to do a better job to provide this group with resources.  With that said any suggestions of content you would like to see or any young parents that would like to write for the blog, please let us know!!

To start us off, I have a very excited announcement from the Boston Public Schools…so enjoy!!!

In May, the BPS Office of Welcome Services, together with Y/BPS, will launch this BPS Ambassador Team (Team BPS).  Team BPS is a Call to Action for BPS parents, alumni, educators and civic/corporate partners to help spread the good word about the many good things happening in our schools and for our students. We have 49 ambassadors signed up thus far and our goal is to top 100 by the beginning of May, with 200 folks on board as we launch the new school year in the fall.

Ambassadors will make a commitment to support BPS twice a year (or more if you like) in any of the following ways: speaking at a workshop or event for parents considering BPS, handing out information on Visibility Day in the fall to parents registering for any BPS grade, taking part in print media opportunities (writing a letter to the editor for example) and social media methods to get the word out (listservs, blogs), talking informally to parents considering BPS on the ballfield, outside a swim class, you name it.

Applicants simply need to fill out the form at this link: www.bostonpublicschools.org/teambps.  In exchange, ambassadors are provided with a short but important orientation, official “Team Wear,” and quarterly (but optional) networking and learning opportunities with guest speakers such as the Superintendent, School Committee members, and more.

I hope everyone is enjoying this wonderful weather and please check back tomorrow for a very amazing podcast!
