ONEin3 Boston Mayor’s Advisory Council Alumna Amelia Aubourg forward us this event so we know it’s going to be great, so great that we agreed to co-sponsor!
On September 15th, the American Red Cross is hosting a free discussion to get to the bottom of a very important question: How do we make a real impact through civic engagement? We take it on faith that high civic engagement is an unimpeachable good, but how do we make sure that our civic actions achieve our goals in the best way possible?
In light of the humanitarian disasters in Haiti and Chile in the recent past, these are especially important. Our resources, financial and human alike, can’t be wasted.
The Red Cross has brought in four outstanding people to help us answer these big questions: Emily Cherniack from Be the Change, Inc; Margaret Hall from the Greenlight Fund; Luis Matnog from the American Red Cross; and Maria Sacchetti from the Boston Globe.
And if that’s not good enough, we’ll be enjoying some post-panel refreshments across the street at Vox Populi.
