Late Night Craving

Its 11:30 on a Tuesday night and you are starving. You’re in the general Fenway/BackBay area or maybe Southie. Where could you possibly find something delicious? Someplace that delivered? Teriyaki House is the answer to your late night craving prayers.

Specializing in Japanese and Chinese dishes with scrumptious sushi, Teriyaki House is always an option. Every time I go, Vegetable Tempura ($4.50) that is light and crispy, the Teriyaki Salmon Bowl ( $7.00) with brown rice and mixed vegetables, and either the Philadelphia Roll ($5.25) made with avocado, salmon, and cream cheese or their Chicken Wings ($4.50) always hit the spot. I could eat (read: have eaten) three orders of the chicken wings. Absolutely delectable.

Granted, unless you are training for a decathlon you probably won’t finish all of this yourself. This makes Teriyaki House the perfect spot for lunch or dinner with friends that share your love for food and, well, sharing.

With sushi and sashimi by the piece starting at $1.75 and popular choices like Sake and Maguro being only $2.00 each it is easy to have a fat feast on a thin budget. Their sushi selection is incredible offering everything from staples like California Rolls ($4.25) to the exotic like the Fire Cracker Rolls ($14.50). This combines spicy scallop with Tobiko and Asparagus then topped with seared tuna. Delicious.

If Chinese food is more up your style the Hot and Sour Soup ($2.50) will warm you up on a cold day and their portion of Lo Mein, six different ways, will last easily for two meals. If you’re looking for that go-to meal you’ve had forever General Tao’s or Orange Chicken (both $8.00) will fill your void. There are so many beef, shrimp, veggie and chicken entrée selections that you will be tempted to stray and have something new.

Even better, on Friday and Saturday nights you can order all your favorites, delivery or eat in, until 2 am at the Back Bay location. Conveniently, the Southie spot is open every day until 1 am. Definitely a casual local, Teriyaki House is a great place to relax and grab a quick bite. Make sure you pick up their menu for special deals and coupons!
