This morning I came across a Seattle based project that I absolutely love. At the risk of boring you with too much music talk, I bring you: Seattle Band Map.
Boston has a long music history. Allston, South End, Central Square and Harvard Square in Cambridge, Kenmore Square and other spots have been the nooks and crannies and home bases where bands, famous, infamous and unknown alike, have plied their trade.
We’ve even thrown a hero up the pop charts every now and again. Off the top of my head: Boston, The Cars, Aerosmith, The Pixies, New Kids, Bobby Brown, Bosstones, Dropkick Murphys, James Taylor, Passion Pit, Morphine and many more. Some people went elsewhere to become stars, like Donna Summer and Guru of Gang Starr.
Long story short, we’ve got the goods here, but we don’t talk about it much.
So, here’s my challenge to you:
ONEin3 seeks someone with tech skillz, musical knowledge and cultural pride to build Boston a band map of its very own!
