Boston Common, the Emerald Necklace, Charles River Reservation, Waterfront Park, Southwest Corridor Park …… countless of gorgeous open spaces are here in Boston with easy public transportation access or within walking distance from your house. Behind these well constructed and maintained open spaces is the City’s rigorous effort in developing better plans for the Boston citizens over the past decades.
Currently, the City of Boston is developing a new city wide Open Space Plan for the year 2015 to 2021 to guide it in this vitally important facet of our city growth. As part of this effort, the Boston Parks and Recreation Department has developed a questionnaire to enable the public to provide valuable input about their park use and preferences. This short survey includes questions of how you feel about and use the existing open spaces, as well as how frequent you visit some of the them.
“This document provides a blueprint for the use, maintenance, and development of open space in Boston,” Mayor Menino noted. “We want as many residents to participate as possible so that their voices may be heard as we examine our priorities in handling these valuable resources.”
So what are you waiting for? Tell the City what you think and help make Boston a better living space for yourself and everyone else!
