Boston Young Entrepreneurs with Panos Panay - November 9th!

October’s Boston Young Entrepreneurs was a great time. I, for one, really enjoyed seeing all our long-time BYE peeps and also a TON of new faces. Above all, it was exciting just be back in action and we thank everyone who was able to come out.

For November we have a great event for you sponsored by MassChallenge.

Panos Panay, the co-founder of Boston Young Entrepreneurs, will be speaking to the group about his experience founding and building Sonicbids.

Panos came to Boston to go to Berklee College of Music and stuck around in the music business. After seeing a need for a cheaper, easier way for performing artists to distribute demos and marketing materials, Panos founded Sonicbids and created Electronic Press Kits.

Over the past 9 years, Panos has grown Sonicbids from a one man operation to 55 employees. He has invested his own money, blood, sweat and tears, received venture capital funding and has now acquired a California based company to enhance Sonicbids.

On November 9th, Panos will be at BYE to share his experience, his struggles and words of wisdom about how to create a strong company. Be there.

Date: Tuesday, November 9th

Time: 6:00-8:00pm

Location: MassChallenge, One Marina Park Drive, Boston’s Innovation District

RSVP: Devin.Cole.BRA @ CityofBoston.gov or on Facebook - Registration is limited to 50, so get on it quickly!

NB: This event is 21+

The Founder Institute - Accepting Application for Winter 2010

The Founder Institute is a four month apprenticeship for entrepreneurs. They are awesome and we’re psyched that they came to Boston for the first time last year.

Well, the time has come for their second session and, people, what’s the downside to applying? I mean, they’re going to give you lessons galore, hook you up with mentors and all around help you launch your company into its next phase.

So get on it.

Wine Riot by The Second Glass - Get Your Tickets ASAP!

The Second Glass is run by Boston Young Entrepreneurs superstars Morgan First and Tyler Balliet. They are awesome.

Wine Riot is their marquee event and it is especially awesome. Think big circular room filled with all sorts of great wine that you can try out and an entire room full of cool, interesting people who also happen to be knowledgeable about wine.

Bottom line: this event is amazing and it showed at their April edition, which was a 100% sellout.

This time around it’s even better because 90 + Cellars, a local Boston winery that’s pretty cool in its own right, is sponsoring the Wine Riot Lounge and will be pouring a set of Wine Riot label wines which will blow your mind.

If I tried to highlight everything at Wine Riot, this blog would turn into a novella, but suffice it to say there will be a DJ, Taza chocolate, a photo booth, temporary (and probably real) tattoos, a roving wine intelligence unit and a lot more. You should go.

Dates:

  • Friday, October 22nd - Opening Night Riot 7-11pm, $55, 500 tickets on sale
  • Saturday, October 23rd
    • Riot One 1-5pm, $45, 1000 tickets on sale
    • Riot Two 7-11pm, $45, 1000 tickets on sale

Location: Boston Center for the Arts Cyclorama, 539 Tremont Street, South End

Tickets: Tickets, get your tickets here!

PS. The Second Glass has a brand new site launched in time for Wine Riot. The new site (and mobile site, which is way more convenient in the moment) makes it easy to remember the wines you like or dislike so you can buy/avoid them the next time you’re at the liquor store. It’s pretty cool, check it out.
